Brussels 'n Bacon

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 lbs brussels sprouts, washed and sliced into shreds
  • 3 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 fry bacon in a large deep skillet over medium heat until cooked but not crispy, about 5 to 7 minutes. remove bacon from the heat, leaving the grease.
  • 2 add the garlic and almonds to the skillet, and cook over medium heat until toasted.
  • 3 add the brussels sprouts and stir, completely coating them with the garlic/almond/oil mixture.
  • 4 add the red wine vinegar to the sprouts. cook, stirring frequently, until sprouts are wilted.
  • 5 add salt and pepper, stir in the bacon, and serve immediately.
