Bob's Succulent Coleslaw

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 green onion
  • 1 cup shredded carrot
  • 1/8 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/2 head cabbage
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (i prefer hellmans or best foods)
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1/4 cup apple vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 mix mayo, seasoning salt, pepper, sugar, and lemon-pepper in a bowl.
  • 2 slowly add vinegar to mixture until combined.
  • 3 set aside in fridge for 30 minutes.
  • 4 in a food processor, add half the cabbage, in chunks, carrots, parsley, and onion.
  • 5 pulse until nicely chopped, but not mushy.
  • 6 thinly slice the other half of the cabbage.
  • 7 in a bowl, combine the processed mixture, the sliced cabbage, and the dressing, and toss.
  • 8 let rest for at least an hour. overnight is best.

Bobbie's Amazing Tiramisu

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 32 french-style ladyfinger cookies
  • 10 egg yolks
  • 10 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 lb mascarpone cheese (smooth)
  • 2 pints heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons
  • 1 cup espresso coffee, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder

Recipe

  • 1 quickly dip 16 cookies in espresso and place on bottom of a 9 x 12 x 2 inch baking dish.
  • 2 whisk egg yolks and sugar until frothy.
  • 3 add mascarpone cheese and whisk until smooth.
  • 4 add and blend.
  • 5 whip heavy cream until stiff and fold into egg and cheese mixture.
  • 6 pour half of the mixture over the cookies.
  • 7 dip the other 16 cookies in the espresso and place over the custard.
  • 8 cover with the rest of the egg and cheese mixture.
  • 9 refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • 10 sprinkle with powdered cocoa and enjoy!

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 cups chopped fresh broccoli
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c).
  • over medium-low heat melt butter in a large saucepan. add onions, garlic and broccoli. cook slowly, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are soft. spoon vegetables into crust and sprinkle with cheese.
  • combine eggs and milk. season with salt and pepper. stir in melted butter. pour egg mixture over vegetables and cheese.
  • bake in preheated oven for 30 to 50 minutes, or until center has set.

Bobbie's Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 lb stew meat (about 1 inch square)
  • 2 -3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups carrots, chopped
  • 5 celery ribs, chopped
  • 1 large rutabaga, peeled and chopped
  • 2 -3 large red potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes (do not drain)
  • 4 -6 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules (mom swears by wyler's)
  • 1 small head of cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups frozen cut green beans
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 combine flour, salt and pepper in small bowl. heat oil in skillet. coat the beef in flour mixture, then brown in the skillet. (you can skip this step and just put the beef in the pot raw, but i like the texture this gives the meat -- besides, this is the way mom does it!).
  • 2 chop carrots, celery, rutabaga and potatoes into bite-size pieces.
  • 3 put beef, chopped vegetables and diced tomatoes in large pot. add water and beef granules. (pretty much fill the pot here. it should be 2/3-3/4 vegies and meat, the rest water -- but leaves enough room so it doesn't boil over.)
  • 4 bring to a boil and cook for 40 minutes, stirring often. add the sliced cabbage, green beans, and peas. taste the broth, add salt and pepper to taste. you can add more beef flavoring if you want.
  • 5 cook 30 minutes longer. the rutabaga should be fork tender and the cabbage cooked through.
  • 6 serve with bread or rolls.

Bob's Scalloped Potatoes

  • 8 -10 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 green peppers, diced
  • 1/2 lb longhorn cheese
  • 1/2 lb velveeta cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 grease 13 x 9 pan.
  • 2 alternately layer potatoes, peppers, onions and cheeses.
  • 3 salt and pepper each layer until all ingredients are used.
  • 4 mix soup and milk; pour over top.
  • 5 bake covered at 350 degrees for 1 hour, then uncover and bake until done.

Bob Hope's Lemon Meringue Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups tbsps sugar
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon peel, minced (rehydrate in 2 tbs water)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe

  • 1 start with a nicely cooked pie crust.
  • 2 preheat oven to 350.
  • 3 mix sugar, cornstarch and water over medium low heat stirring constantly until thick.
  • 4 stir in the butter until melted.
  • 5 remove from stove and whisk in the egg yolks, one at a time. then the lemon juice, salt and lemon peel.
  • 6 reheat gently on low for 2-3 minutes while stirring. do not boil.
  • 7 pour into pie shell and cool.
  • 8 meringue - start with a very clean, dry glass bowl and beat the egg whites, salt and cream of tartar to stiff peak on high.
  • 9 fold in the sugar and vanilla by hand, carefully.
  • 10 spread over the pie to the edge.
  • 11 bake 15 minutes until the meringue is lightly browned.
  • 12 cool to room temp, then refrigerate until time to serve.

Bob's High Fiber Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups hard whole wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup natural bran
  • 1/3 cup barley flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Recipe

  • 1 in a small bowl, combine sugar and water. sprinkle the yeast into water while stirring. let stand approximately 5 minutes, or until foamy.
  • 2 in a large bowl, whisk 2 cups of whole wheat flour with bran, barley flour, oats, wheat germ, and salt. create indent in the middle of mixture and pour in the yeast liquid. stir to slowly incorporate ingredients to form dough; add more wheat flour if necessary.
  • 3 knead dough on lightly floured surface for 10 to 15 minutes, until dough is smooth and elastic.
  • 4 coat a bowl with nonstick cooking spray and place the dough inside. roll dough in spray to cover. next, cover dough with a clean dish towel and allow to rise for 45 minutes. dough should double in volume.
  • 5 line a baking sheet with parchment paper or dust with cornmeal.
  • 6 punch the dough down and return it to the floured surface. divide into two pieces, then roll each piece into a loaf about 12 inches long, tapering each end. place loaves prepared baking sheet (2 12-inch bread pans can work, as well) and cover again with dish towel.
  • 7 dough should rise for another 45-60 minutes, doubling in size once again. after rising, the dough should remain dented when poked instead of springing back.
  • 8 bake at 425 fahrenheit for 30 minutes, until loaves sound hollow when tapped. cool on wire racks, slice and serve!
  • 9 1 serving is 1/12 of a loaf.

Bobbi's Sweet And Sour Meatballs

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 5 slices stale bread
  • 1 (12 ounce) can tomatoes
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon grated onion
  • 10 gingersnap cookies (i know, this sounds like an odd ingredient, but it not only adds a great flavor, but it acts as the)

Recipe

  • 1 for meatballs: mix first 6 ingredients together by squishing through you r hands. when thoughourghly mixed,dampen bread slightly and wring out, add bread to the mixture.
  • 2 while meatballs are cooking, start sauce.
  • 3 when mixture thickens, pour over meatballs.
  • 4 great served over rice, and you can even add a can of pineapple chunks to the sauce, too!
  • 5 shortcut: i buy the frozen meatballs @ costco, and puree sauce and pour directly over meatballs into crock pot to cook. if given a couple of hours, frozen meatball will thaw and cook, and sauce will thicken nicely.
  • 6 a triple or quaduple batch will make a 6 qt crockpot full.

  • 5 oranges
  • 62 whole cloves
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (2-inch)
  • 3 quarts orange juice
  • 1 quart apple juice

Recipe

  • 1 stud each orange with 10 whole cloves; place in baking dish.
  • 2 bake at 325 degrees for 3 hours.
  • 3 combine sugar, water, 12 whole cloves and cinnamon in sauce pan.
  • 4 simmer 10 minutes.
  • 5 remove cloves and cinnamon from pan.
  • 6 add juices; heat.
  • 7 pour into heatproof punch bowl.
  • 8 float baked oranges in punch.

Bob’s Italian Sausage Tortellini Soup

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 lb sweet italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 lb mild italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 cups beef broth or 5 cups stock
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup red (i like cabernet or sauvignon )
  • 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 (8 ounce) tomato sauce
  • 2 zucchini, chopped
  • 2 yellow squash
  • 8 ounces cheese tortellini
  • 2 green bell peppers, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 place the sausage in a large pot over medium high heat brown the sausage. add the onions, garlic, peppers and carrots. when those ingredients have softened, add the beef broth, water.
  • 2 next add the beef stock, water, , tomatoes, basil, oregano and tomato sauce. bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, skimming any fat that may surface.
  • 3 add the zucchini, yellow squash, and tortellini, simmer for 10 minutes, or until tortellini is fully cooked.

  • 1/2 cup butter, divided
  • 1 (8 ounce) package uncooked medium egg noodles
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • preheat oven to 375 degrees f (190 degrees c). butter a medium baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter.
  • bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. add egg noodles, cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until al dente, and drain.
  • melt 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. stir in the onion, celery, and garlic, and cook 5 minutes, until tender. increase heat to medium-high, and mix in mushrooms. continue to cook and stir 5 minutes, or until most of the liquid has evaporated.
  • melt 4 tablespoons butter in a medium saucepan, and whisk in flour until smooth. gradually whisk in milk, and continue cooking 5 minutes, until sauce is smooth and slightly thickened. season with salt and pepper. stir in tuna, peas, mushroom mixture, and cooked noodles. transfer to the baking dish. melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in a small bowl, mix with bread crumbs, and sprinkle over the casserole. top with cheese.
  • bake 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until bubbly and lightly browned.

Bob's Mushroom Stew

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 medium onions, separated into rings
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 lb button mushroom
  • 1 (398 ml) can tomatoes with juice
  • 1 cup red
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons red vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons fennel
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • salt and pepper
  • parsley (for garnish)

Recipe

  • 1 in a skillet fry the onions and garlic in the olive oil over med heat until light brown (10 minutes).
  • 2 add mushrooms and cover (5 minutes).
  • 3 add remainder of the ingredients and cook over med high heat about 8 minutes.
  • 4 put into a serving dish and sprinkle with parsley and serve.

Bob's Favorite Hot Salsa (hot Water Bath Canning Method)

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs tomatoes, blanched with skins removed, seeded and cored
  • 2 lbs green chili peppers, seeded and chopped
  • 1 lb white onion, chopped
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 3 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2-1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 combine the tomatoes, peppers and onions and boil for 10 minutes.
  • 2 remove from heat and add remaining ingredients, mixing well.
  • 3 fill hot pint jars to 1/2 inch of the top. process for 15 minutes in a hot water bath.
  • 4 let cool and remove bands and store in a cool dry place for up to 1 year.

Key West Chicken

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • in a shallow container, blend soy sauce, honey, vegetable oil, lime juice, and garlic. place chicken breast halves into the mixture, and turn to coat. cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 30 minutes.
  • preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.
  • lightly oil the grill grate. discard marinade, and grill chicken 6 to 8 minutes on each side, until juices run clear.

Bob's Red Mill Wheat Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unbleached white flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, diced
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425°f.
  • 2 sift together flours, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • 3 using your fingers, rub cubes of cold butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • 4 add buttermilk and stir until moistened, then knead a few times, just enough to make the dough come together.
  • 5 drop about 1/4 cup dough parchment paper and flatten slightly, or you may choose to roll about half inch thick and cut them, placing them on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • 6 bake for about 12 minutes, or until tops are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Bob Marley's Jamaican Jerk Chicken Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped scallion
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 hot pepper, finely ground (or 2 scotch bonnet peppers)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple vinegar
  • 2 lbs chicken breasts, dice 1/2-inch thick
  • 12 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 2 hours
  • 1 1/2 lbs cucumbers
  • 3/4-1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4-1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/8 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt (or less to taste)
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic

Recipe

  • 1 marinade:.
  • 2 mix together onion, scallion, thyme, salt, sugar, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, hot pepper, black pepper, soy sauce, oil and vinegar. these ingredients can also be combined in a food processor.
  • 3 skewer 2 1/2 ounces of chicken each skewer(about 4 pieces). place the skewers in a shallow baking dish and cover with the marinade. marinate in the refrigerator overnight.

  • 6 peel and seed cucumbers and roughly chop. add sour cream and mayonnaise. add rest of ingredients and puree in a blender. yield: about 1 1/2 quarts.

  • 1 red delicious apple, cored and diced
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tuna in vegetable oil, drained
  • 1/2 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 stalk celery, finely diced
  • 1/8 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon red vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 flake tuna.
  • 2 add to diced apple, onion and celery in a bowl. mix well.
  • 3 add 1/8 - 1/4 cup mayonnaise to bind.
  • 4 add 1/2 - 1 tsp [a splash or so] of red vinegar.
  • 5 chill in refrigerator 2 hours [or quick chill in freezer for 20 minutes or so].
  • 6 kids love this, everyone loves this -.

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup milk

  • 3 add eggs one at a time.

  • 1 preheat oven 325°f.

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 8 chocolate graham crackers, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees farenheit.
  • 2 combine cracker crumbs, brown sugar, butter, and vanilla. mix well and press into bottom and sides of ungreased 9 inch pie plate; set aside.

Bob's Grilled Vegetable Terrine

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 red peppers
  • 2 yellow peppers (or any peppers you have)
  • 1 large eggplant
  • 2 large zucchini
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large red onion, finely sliced
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon red vinegar
  • 1 2/3 cups tomato juice
  • 2 tablespoons gelatin
  • basil leaves (to garnish)
  • 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red vinegar
  • ground black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 grill the pepper under a hot grill and skin.
  • 2 grill or fry the eggplant and zucchini, with the olive oil and set aside.
  • 3 heat remaining oil in frypan and fry the onions and raisins till limp add the red vinegar and cook slowly, stirring often, until syrupy.
  • 4 lightly grease a loaf tin with oil. (or line it with glad wrap, prefered).
  • 5 heat half the tomato juice with the gelatine; dissolve over low heat stirring.

  • 1 weigh and divide the sausage into 2 ounce balls.

  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

Recipe

  • 1 mix hamburger, sausage, eggs, and onions well.
  • 2 using a separate bowl, mix the ketchup, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder with a whisk.
  • 3 combine most (but not all!) of the liquid mixture with the meat mixture and mix well.
  • 4 using a large cutting board or other surface, knead the meat to get as much air out as possible.
  • 5 after meat is well kneaded (gently!) place into a greased bread pan.
  • 6 using a rubber spatula, spread the rest of the liquid mixture on top of the meatloaf.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium carrots
  • 3 cups milk
  • 8 whole cardamom pods
  • 6 tablespoons ghee
  • 6 tablespoons sugar (granulated)
  • 2 tablespoons sultanas (golden raisins)
  • 1 tablespoon pistachios (shelled, unsalted, and slightly crushed)
  • 1/2 pint heavy whipping cream

Recipe

  • 1 peal and grate carrots.
  • 2 put carrots, milk, and cardamom pods in a heavy pot and bring to a boil.
  • 3 lower heat to medium and slowly cook and stir until no liquid is left. (about 45 minutes to 1 hour, you may need to adjust heat).
  • 4 heat ghee in pan over medium heat.
  • 5 when this is hot, put in carrot mixture.
  • 6 stir and fry until carrots no longer have a wet, milky look. (they will be a rich reddish brown about 10-15 minutes).
  • 7 add the sugar, sultanas, and pistachios.
  • 8 stir and fry another 2 minutes.
  • 9 serve with whipped cream warm, or at room temperature.

Bob's Favorite Crepes

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup (use a 1/2 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • butter
  • fruit filling

Recipe

  • 1 in a blender, combine milk and eggs. mix on medium-high speed for about 10 seconds. lower the speed and remove the top. add sugar and salt. replace the top and add the butter, and vanilla, blending for a few seconds after each addition. stop blender and add flour and blend for a short time until just combined. for best results, refrigerate the batter overnight.
  • 2 heat crepe pan over medium high heat and brush with a light coat of butter. when the pan is hot, pour 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter into the pan. tilt the pan around as you pour, and try to just cover the bottom of the pan.
  • 3 cook until begin to form - about 1-2 minutes. check the crepe to be sure the pan is not too hot. turn up the heat if the crepe hasn't started to brown.
  • 4 when the cooked side is brown, turn the crepe over and cook for about 30 seconds. remove from pan and keep warm, covered with foil. repeat process.
  • 5 stacked crepes can be prepared 1/2 hour ahead of time.
  • 6 place 2-3 tbsp of filling on crepe and roll up. sprinkle with confectioners sugar or a dash of whipped cream.

Bobbie-q Sauce (barbecue Sauce)

  • 1/2 cup heinz ketchup
  • 1/8 cup water (more or less for desired thickness)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (or more ( i mean, why not?)
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar or 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard

Recipe

  • 1 combine ingredients, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
  • 2 use this as a basting sauce for barbecue, or combine with chopped or shredded beef, chicken or lamb, and simmer until heated throughout and flavor is well through the meat.
  • 3 if you want to make up a batch of this to keep in the freezer, leave out the water, and it will not freeze solid. you can take out the container and just scoop out however much you need. i sometimes make it up by the gallon just to have it on hand for easy meals.

Bob's Tasty Banana Bread

  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten

  • 1 pre heat oven to 350 degrees.

  • 1/2 cup unbleached white flour

  • 1 to toast the wheat germ, heat up a dry cast iron skillet on low or low-medium heat and toast the wheat germ for about 5 minutes or until lightly browned. stir constantly and reduce heat if necessary. wheat germ burns easily and quickly. set aside to cool slightly.

  • 3 in a large mixing bowl combine both flours, wheat germ, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • 4 in a small glass container, whisk together the egg, butter and milk.

  • 1 bunch collard greens (big bunch)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning

  • 1 (14 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

  • 1 chop the collard greens, stems and all, into bite sized pieces.
  • 2 bring a big pot of salted water to a boil. pour in the collards and boil for 18 to 20 minutes.

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt (or salt to taste)
  • 3 lbs lean boneless beef roast or 3 lbs round steaks
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chicken broth
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Recipe

  • 1 dice or coarsely ground beef.
  • 2 combine first 8 ingredients in a small bowl; divide into thirds, and set aside.
  • 3 brown the meat in a large pot; drain well.
  • 4 add tomato sauce, chicken broth, and beef broth and simmer, covered, 2 hours or until meat is tender, adding 1/3 of the chili powder mixture after each half hour of cooking.
  • 5 add cumin and brown sugar with the last portion of the chili powder mixture.
  • 6 chili should cook about 30 minutes longer.

  • 2 cups prepared vanilla pudding
  • 2 cups cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup pancake batter, prepared, for 2 pancakes

  • 1 teaspoon caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

  • 1 make vanilla cream cheese mixture: mix vanilla pudding with cream cheese until well blended and creamy (no lumps). cover and refrigerate immediately. this mixture will store (covered) in the refrigerator up to 5 days.

  • 2 cups water, warm
  • 2 tablespoons active fresh yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups unbleached white flour
  • 2 cups water, warm
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cups wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup flax seed, ground
  • 1/2 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 4 cups white flour

Recipe

  • 1 place first five ingredients into your mixer bowl in order, making sure the water is not too hot. it should be a step above lukewarm.
  • 2 use a wire whip attachment to whip until blended then let sit for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
  • 3 add the next six ingredients (including vital wheat gluten) and continue mixing with the wire whip until blended.
  • 4 switch to dough hook and add the four cups of white flour.
  • 5 mix on speed 2 for 1-2 minutes then speed 1 for 6 minutes to knead it.
  • 6 place on a spray greased surface and knead into a ball.
  • 7 place into a greased bowl and cover with wax paper sprayed with oil, then let it sit til doubled in size 30-45 minutes.
  • 8 gently push down and let it rise again.
  • 9 remove from bowl greased surface and divide into 5 pieces and shape each piece into a loaf.
  • 10 if you want to freeze some, now is the time. place formed loaf on cookie sheet in freezer and after its frozen place in freezer bag. when you take it out cover with sprayed wax paper and let raise 2-3 hours.
  • 11 place each loaf in a greased bread pan and poke holes in top with a fork.
  • 12 let sit for approximately 30 minutes. when bread is about 1 inch above top of bread pan bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 cup dry red
  • 2 tablespoons oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried tarragon
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried marjoram
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • salt & freshly ground black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 heat 2 tbsps of the oil in a large skillet and sauté the mushrooms until they release their liquid.
  • 2 transfer them to a large pot (i use a 4 qt. saucepan).
  • 3 heat the remaining oil, sprinkle the oegano on the bottom, add the onions and garlic and sauté until they begin to turn soft.
