Bob Murray's Top Secret Boiled Fruitcake

Ingredients

• 500 g cake fruit
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 250 g margarine
• 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
• 2 cups water
• 3 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Recipe

• 1 boil together for 3 minutes the first six ingredients.
• 2 cool till lukewarm.
• 3 stir into the mixture: flour, bicarb of soda and baking powder.
• 4 bake in a 20 cm (8inch) deep tin for 2 hours at 300f/150°c.
