Breakfast Gravy For Biscuits

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 lbs breakfast sausage
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed black peppercorns
  • salt

Recipe

  • 1 brown sausage and break up into bite size pieces.
  • 2 cook until fully done.
  • 3 add flour to the sausage and grease and cook until it has a pasty consistency.
  • 4 add milk very slowly to sausage making sure to mix well and avoid lumps.
  • 5 cook on medium heat stirring occasionally until it is a thick gravy.
  • 6 finally add buttermilk pepper and salt to taste.
  • 7 let the gravy once again thicken for about 5 minutes on medium heat.
  • 8 serve hot over fresh baked biscuits.
