Chili Rubbed Flank Steak With Onion Relish (south Beach Diet)

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/4 lbs flank steaks
  • 7 teaspoons lime juice
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • salt
  • 1 sweet onion, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 rub steak with 2 t. lime juice and 2 t. chili powder, then sprinkle with salt. let sit while you prepare the relish.
  • 2 combine onion, cilantro, remaining 5 t. of lime juice and 1/2 t. of chili powder.
  • 3 broil or grill steak about 7 minutes (medium-rare) per side until desired doneness.
  • 4 remove steak from heat and let sit at least 5 minutes (very important).
  • 5 cut steak at an angle against the grain. serve topped with onion relish.
