Chinese Chicken

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 -2 1/2 lbs broiling chicken, cut up
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon msg
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sherry wine
  • 2 green peppers, diced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 (9 ounce) can crushed pineapple
  • bamboo shoot, drained
  • 1 (4 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
  • 1 (8 ounce) can bean sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil in a large skillet. dip chicken parts in mixture of cornstarch, salt, msg, pepper and sugar. brown all sides.
  • 2 add soy sauce and wine; cover and cook for 10 minutes. remove chicken and set aside.
  • 3 mix together all remaining ingredients in the skillet and cook over high heat for 1 minute. place chicken on top, cover and lower heat and cook for 10 minutes longer.
