Chinese Sweet And Sour Pungent Barbque Sauce

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons dry sherry or 2 tablespoons water or 2 tablespoons wine

Recipe

  • 1 saute onion in oil until translucent.
  • 2 add garlic stir until you can smell the garlic.
  • 3 add all other ingredients except sherry and corn starch.
  • 4 simmer 15 minutes.
  • 5 stir together corn starch and sherry.
  • 6 add corn starch and sherry mix to other ingredients.
  • 7 simmer until thick.
