Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 5 tablespoons chilled butter
- 1 cup buttermilk (or use regular milk and add a splash of vinegar)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 425.
- 2 sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
- 3 cut butter into flour until coarse crumbs form.
- 4 add buttermilk and toss until dough forms.
- 5 turn onto lightly floured surface and gather into a disk.
- 6 knead lightly a few times just until smooth. pat into 3/4" thick and cut with biscuit cutter.
- 7 place biscuits 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.
