Bacon Marmalade

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons frank's red hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • kosher salt
  • fresh ground black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cook the bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until almost crisp, 5 minutes. pour off drippings leaving about 2 tablespoons. add the onion to the skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring, until the onion browns, about 10 more minutes. if it starts to stick add a splash of water to the pan. stir in the hot sauce, sugar, vinegar, and salt and pepper to taste.
