Cream Cheese Croissant Dessert

Ingredients

- 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated croissants
- 16 ounces blocks low-fat cream cheese (room temp)
- 1 cup sugar, plus
- 1 tablespoon sugar, for topping
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 large egg, separated
Recipe
- 1 preheat overn to 350 degrees.
- 2 lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- 3 open and unroll one package of croissants (do not flatten) and lay at the bottom of the pan. (pinch together the perforated edges as needed.).
- 4 in a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and egg yolk until smooth.
- 5 spread mixture on top of croissant.
- 6 open the second package of croissants, unroll and lay on top of cream cheese mixture.
- 7 place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes (or until the top layer is very lightly browned).
- 8 immediately after baking, brush the top with egg and sprinkly with remaining sugar.
- 9 *i sometimes add a little cinnamon to the top as well.
