Cream Cheese Croissant Dessert

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated croissants
  • 16 ounces blocks low-fat cream cheese (room temp)
  • 1 cup sugar, plus
  • 1 tablespoon sugar, for topping
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg, separated

Recipe

  • 1 preheat overn to 350 degrees.
  • 2 lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • 3 open and unroll one package of croissants (do not flatten) and lay at the bottom of the pan. (pinch together the perforated edges as needed.).
  • 4 in a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and egg yolk until smooth.
  • 5 spread mixture on top of croissant.
  • 6 open the second package of croissants, unroll and lay on top of cream cheese mixture.
  • 7 place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes (or until the top layer is very lightly browned).
  • 8 immediately after baking, brush the top with egg and sprinkly with remaining sugar.
  • 9 *i sometimes add a little cinnamon to the top as well.
