Christina's Spicy Sirloin With Chimichurri

Total Time: 26 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 16 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steaks (without bones)
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh cilantro stems
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 6 minced garlic cloves
  • 3 bay leaves
  • cooking spray
  • chimichurri sauce

Recipe

  • 1 trim fat from the steak, and set aside.
  • 2 combine cilantro and the next 9 ingrediants in a large ziplock bag. add steak to the bag, and seal. marinate in refridgerator for 3 hours, turning occasionally.
  • 3 remove steak from the bag; discard marinade.
  • 4 prepare the grill.
  • 5 place steak in grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill steak for 8 minutes on each side untill desired degree of doneness. let stand for 3 minutes.
  • 6 cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices.
  • 7 serve with chimichurri sauce.
