Boiled Cake

Ingredients

• 1 lb raisins
• 1 lb brown sugar
• 1/4 cup shortening
• 3 cups water
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon clove
• 1 pinch allspice
• 4 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1 -1 1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe

• 1 boil raisins, brown sugar, shortening, water, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice for 15 minutes.
• 2 cool.
• 3 sift flour, soda and salt together and add to boiled mixture.
• 4 grease and flour 2 9x5x3 loaf pans and pour in batter.
• 5 bake at 300 degree for 1 hour or until tests done.
