Chocolate Frosting 1957

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream (35 % whipping cream)
  • 1/2 cup room temp. butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 lbs chopped semisweet chocolate (best chocolate always.)

Recipe

  • 1 combine the heavy cream and sugar, and butter over low heat.
  • 2 bring to a very hot simmer, stirring well.
  • 3 let sugar dissolve well.
  • 4 add vanilla.
  • 5 stir.
  • 6 pour over the chopped chocolate in a large bowl.
  • 7 stir until melted, and blended.
  • 8 refrigerate until thick and cold.
  • 9 beat until texture is like frosting.
  • 10 do not over beat-- will seperate-- and go grainy.
  • 11 this recipe can be cut in half easily.
  • 12 good on butter cake recipe.
