Chocolate Frosting 1957

Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream (35 % whipping cream)
- 1/2 cup room temp. butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 lbs chopped semisweet chocolate (best chocolate always.)
Recipe
- 1 combine the heavy cream and sugar, and butter over low heat.
- 2 bring to a very hot simmer, stirring well.
- 3 let sugar dissolve well.
- 4 add vanilla.
- 5 stir.
- 6 pour over the chopped chocolate in a large bowl.
- 7 stir until melted, and blended.
- 8 refrigerate until thick and cold.
- 9 beat until texture is like frosting.
- 10 do not over beat-- will seperate-- and go grainy.
- 11 this recipe can be cut in half easily.
- 12 good on butter cake recipe.
