Chocolate Cranberry Truffles

Ingredients

  • 9 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup jellied cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 place chocolate, cranberry sauce and heavy cream in a medium saucepan.
  • 2 cook over medium-low heat until sauce is smooth, whisking frequently.
  • 3 remove from heat and pour into a glass or plastic bowl.
  • 4 cover with plastic wrap.
  • 5 let sit at room temperature to thicken.
  • 6 combine cocoa and 1 1/2 tablespoons powdered sugar on a small plate.
  • 7 scoop out a rounded teaspoonful of chocolate mixture.
  • 8 roll in cocoa, coating throroughly.
  • 9 dust hands with powdered sugar.
  • 10 roll truffle in hands to form a 1-inch ball.
  • 11 continue forming truffles with remaining chocolate mixture.
  • 12 store in tightly covered contanier until ready to serve.
  • 13 before serving remove and place in decorative paper holders.
