Bran Muffins

Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 4 eggs
- 5 cups flour
- 2 cups boiling water
- 4 cups milk
- 5 teaspoons baking soda
- 3 cups all bran buds
- 2 cups bran flakes (ground)
Recipe
- 1 blend the shortening, sugar, and salt together. add the eggs and cream together. add the flour.
- 2 in a saucepan, combine the water, milk, baking soda, bran buds, and bran flakes. cook bud do not scald the milk (it seems to make the muffins really dense).
- 3 mix the two portions together and put into muffin pan. bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
