Brioche Bread And Butter Pudding

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 6 slices brioche bread or 6 hot cross buns, about 8 oz, halved
- 1/3 cup golden raisin
- 1 whole nutmeg
Recipe
- 1 grease 6 individual dishes, 1 cup each.
- 2 in a saucepan, combine the milk, cream, vanilla essence, and 3 tbsp of sugar. heat until the sugar dissolves.
- 3 beat the eggs well and stir in 2-3 tbsp of the hot milk combination to warm the eggs, and then stir in the rest of the hot milk.
- 4 lightly toast the brioche, slice into quarters, and divide them up between the 6 individual dishes. also divide the golden raisins between the dishes.
- 5 pour the custard into the dishes, sprinkle the top with sugar and grated nutmeg. place in a preheated oven of 350 degree f. bake for 18-20 minutes. serve warm.
