Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 celery, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 500 g beef mince
- 1 cup beef stock
- 850 g chopped tomatoes
- 1 1/2 cups red
Recipe
- 1 heat the olive oil in a large heavybased pan. add the onion,carrot and celery and cook, stirring, over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until softened.add the garlicand cook for 1 minute.
- 2 add the mince and cook until well browned. add the stock ,tomatoes and sugar.
- 3 bring to the boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. season to taste with salt and pepper. serve with spaghetti.
