Bolognese Sauce

Total Time: 2 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 celery, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 500 g beef mince
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 850 g chopped tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups red

Recipe

  • 1 heat the olive oil in a large heavybased pan. add the onion,carrot and celery and cook, stirring, over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until softened.add the garlicand cook for 1 minute.
  • 2 add the mince and cook until well browned. add the stock ,tomatoes and sugar.
  • 3 bring to the boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. season to taste with salt and pepper. serve with spaghetti.
