Bread Pudding

Ingredients

- 8 cups bread
- 2 1/4 cups milk
- 2 3/4 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Recipe
- 1 cube bread and place in a greased 13in x 9in x 2in baking dish.
- 2 in a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk,1-3/4 cup cream, 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup melted butter, vanilla and cinnamon. pour evenly over bread.
- 3 bake uncovered at 350* for 40-45 minutes or until knife inserted near the center comes out clean. let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
- 4 meanwhile, in a small saucepan, bring 1 cup sugar, water, and lemon juice to a boil.
- 5 reduce heat to medium; cook until sugar is dissolved and amber color.
- 6 stir in 2 tablespoons butter until melted.
- 7 add 1 cup cream.
- 8 remove from the heat. serve with bread pudding.
