russian chili

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle flat
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
  • 1 cup sour cream

Recipe

    Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

    Ready Time: 1 hr 15 mins

  • in a large skillet over medium heat, cook beef until brown. drain and let cool. rinse with water. drain.
  • in a large pot over medium heat, cook onion, bell pepper and celery in oil until just tender. stir in ground beef, , water, chili powder, salt, pepper, parsley and cumin. reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes.
  • stir in tomato paste and cook 10 minutes more.
  • stir in kidney beans and heat through. remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
