Braised Celery (irish)

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 head celery
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley leaves, chopped
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 10 ounces chicken stock
  • salt and black pepper
  • 1 ounce butter

Recipe

  • 1 clean celery, cut into one-inch pieces and place in a casserole dish.
  • 2 finely chop bacon and onion and sprinkle over celery along with chopped parsley.
  • 3 pour on stock. dot with knobs of butter. cover dish and bake in a moderate oven for 30-45 minutes.
